How much does a locksmith cost in Sydney?
It depends on the job, the lock and the time of day. We give you an estimate on the phone and confirm the price before any work starts. Night, weekend and public holiday call-outs cost more, and we tell you that upfront.
Should I rekey or change my locks?
Rekeying changes the pins inside your existing lock so old keys stop working. It is usually the cheaper option after moving in or losing a key. If the lock is worn, damaged or you want a higher security model, a lock change makes more sense. See our rekeying service or our lock change service.
Are you really available 24/7?

Will you damage my door to get me back in?
We use non-destructive entry first and only replace a lock if it is broken or cannot be opened any other way. If that happens, we explain why before we touch it.
How quickly can you get to me?
Most addresses in the inner city, inner south and eastern suburbs are reached in 15 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic and the time of day.
What should I do first after a break-in?
If you are in danger, call 000. Otherwise report it to the Police Assistance Line on 131 444, then call us to secure the door: we repair or replace the damaged lock so the property can be locked again the same day.
Are you a licensed locksmith?
Yes. Rapid Key Locksmith holds NSW Master Licence 000110647. Every locksmith working in NSW needs a security licence, and you can ask to see ours on arrival.
Do you work for landlords, agents and strata managers?
Yes. We rekey or change locks between tenants, fit new locks and repair common area doors, and we can work with the property manager to arrange access.
Can you cut spare keys on the spot?
Yes. Our van carries a key cutting machine, so we can cut standard keys on the spot. Restricted keys that belong to a strata key system need written approval from your building manager first.
